A heart felt thanks to Dr. Edington and all involved in a successful 2008 Distinguished Preacher Weekend. On Saturday September 20th, Dr. Edington provided a unique, three hour, thought provoking look into the tranformation of apostles and disciples as they built a relationship with Jesus Christ and spread his word to all corners of the world.
Dr. Edington concluded the weekend at the 9:00 and 10:45 services by delivering an in depth and dramatic look at Jesus' parable of the lost son. Edington explains how Jesus uses every nuance in the circumstances and actions of the parable's characters to connect with each listening individual and to effectively describe the loving relationship that God has with each one of us.

Lenape Valley Presbyterian Church is delighted to present Dr. J. Howard Edington as the 2008 Distinguished Preacher.
Join us for two events during the weekend of September 20th and 21st, 2008.
Saturday September 20th
Saturday's event begins 9:00AM and runs until Noon and is a seminar titled "Everything You Need To Know About The Disciples... and Then Some!"
A catered lunch will be provided following the seminar from 12:30PM to 2:00PM and will also serve as a time for Questions and Answers with our distinguished guest preacher. Reservations are necessary for the Saturday seminar and lunch tickets are available for $10.00 per adult. Children under 8 are free.

In 2007, we were honored to welcome Rev. Dr. Thomas G. Long. Dr. Long, is Bandy Professor of Preaching at Emory University's Candler School of Theology. Dr. Long has been described by Baylor University and Newsweek magazine as one of the 12 most effective preachers in the English speaking world.
Dr. Long's lesson for this celebration weekend focused on the Book of Hebrews.

LVPC Sermon by Distinguished Preacher Fleming Rutledge is Published

A newly published book from 2006 LVPC Distinguished Preacher, Rev. Fleming Rutledge, entitled "Not Ashamed of the Gospel - Sermons from Paul's Letter to the Romans" is now available on bookshelves. This book is particularly special to LVPC as it captures the sermon, "The Line Between Good and Evil", and makes mention of it being first preached at Lenape Valley Presbyterian Church.

Rutledge's Saturday sermon and instruction concentrated on Paul's letter to the Romans and reinforced that God's grace and our obedience through faith is what saves us.
